@paool .. The majority of today’s physicists DO indeed think that (at least ‘local’) reality IS indeed an illusion.
They base their belief on Bell’s Theorem (google it!).
It appears that DEEP DEEP down, the world we live in isn’t exactly what it SEEMS to be.
(According to Nield Bohr (Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Physics), there IS no ‘deep reality’. Not ‘we can’t know it’, but it REALLY isn’t there.). Interesting stuff: maybe I should write more posts on Quantum Reality.
@injun: considering that hitting your head is indeed a form of observation (by touch, rather than sight), your remark thereby represents the ‘Observer Created Reality’ (there is no moon when nobody looks) school in the Quantum reality debate.
Let’s face it: we’re all just in a holodeck simulation, nothing of this is real.
We even know that time is not continuous. There is a smallest unit of time (Planck time: “wikipedia” it!): anything shorter than that is meaningless: if you go beyond it, all laws of physics break down.
So, we’re probably a DIGITAL holodeck simulation at that.
… until you hit your head into that lamp post…
was het maar waar….
