Every year the bi-monthly magazine Annals of Improbable Research awards the so called Science Ig Nobel Prizes for ‘results that cannot, or should not, be reproduced‘

I couldn’t decide between these two – (both of which made me laugh so hard I nearly choked):
1991 Education – J. Danforth Quayle, consumer of time and occupier of space, for demonstrating, better than anyone else, the need for science education.
1993 Medicine – Presented to James F. Nolan, Thomas J. Stillwell, and John P. Sands, Jr., medical men of mercy, for their painstaking research report, “Acute Management of the Zipper-Entrapped Penis.”
A few of my picks:
– 1992 Biology: “The Sperminator”
– 1993 & 1994 Mathematics
– 1996 Public Health
Well.. too many to mention actually ..
But I really would have LOVED to watch the experiments for the 2005 Chemistry entry!
Wow – I was going to read this list, but I was distracted by all of the Wikipedia links. I kno I link to Wikipedia some (maybe ten times in 150 posts). But this list is a Wikipedia love-fest!
It’s more annoying than useful though – I don’t need a definition of “breakfast cereal” linked in any page on the Internet that I would normally visit 🙂

Oh this one: 2005 Nutrition – Presented to Dr. Yoshiro Nakamatsu of Tokyo, Japan, for photographing and retrospectively analyzing every meal he has consumed during a period of 34 years (and counting).
This is a man after my own heart with his interest in his food…
My interest in my food stops after I swallow it.
Does ‘retrospectively analyzing’ ones food mean what I fear it means?
