Whether or not you want to FIGHT this religion war is of course totally up to you.
But you ARE already INVOLVED, whether you like it or not.
The buildings you work in are under attack, the subways you ride are under attack, the planes you fly in are under attack.
And we most likely have seen only the tip of the iceberg yet.

Just wanted to point out the slight difference in wording you might get from an “average European” (no such thing exists, of course, just suppose):

“Starting the fight (especially: for the wrong reason) almost ensured a global war in the future. The continuation of the fight now ensured it, I think”

Indeed, nearly impossible to “do right”… after done so much wrong.

To balance the above: the US just followed the trail blazed by the European colonial powers of the past centuries – the root of this problem imho. Just too bad they did not learn from history…

Oops – guess I commented too?

But I think in this case (and in many cases like this) we are fucked. We can’t do right. We either let the bastards go, or we put them somewhere that we know they won’t be let go from.

I don’t agree with the torture part (not even sure I agree on what IS IS when it comes to torture. For me – no Internet. For a terrorist? I’m not so sure.)

And I would prefer we just legally killed them right up front. At least this jackass has an opportuninty to brag about his life’s accomplishments. The people in the WTC didn’t have that opportunity.

Personally, I am scared to death that most Americans are going to get exactly what a vocal portion (majority/minority – depends on how you ask it) seem to want – us pulling back and ignoring the nests these snakes breed in until they are powerful enough to strike us here again. With an improved ability to kill.

Quitting the fight now almost ensures a global war in the future, I think.

In any case, I commented.

Rob
