Of course, we COULD have escorted her to a room, given her some assurances and something to drink, be nice and friendly to her, get a doctor and calm her down.
But why do all that when you can handcuff, pepper-spray, taser and lock-up people?
And no, the airlines are not to blame. Nor is the airport.
And maybe not even the security/police folks who did this.. but their TRAINING!
Overreacting law-enforcement/security personell is rapidly becoming rampant! If your police officers are wrestling people to the ground, then handcuff and arrest them in a Washington DC metro station for … chewing gum, .. then you have a problem! If you taser the hell out of someone, who already has three officers sitting on top of him, just because he wanted to ask the Presidential Candidate ONE more question .. you have a problem. If you have your police officers spend whole days in airport bathroom stalls to ‘trap’ adult people trying to sollicit consential sex, you have a problem. If you have police in the DC area arresting people and putting them in jail who have a 0.01% BAC (one small glass of wine), even though the legal limit is 0.08%, and they quote ‘zero tolerance’… you have a problem. If you see stories like this in the news on a daily basis .. you DEFINITELY have a problem!
